I found a half full mug of coffee on the porch rail one morning. It was cold; it still tasted like a second chance. Like proof the sun comes up again even after the longest nights. I think about that taste when the pull is too strong to ignore. The feeling that you know exactly how it will end, but you take a sip anyway and flutter upwards into the same old, beautiful, impossible light. Maybe it’s not about arriving. Maybe it’s just about the trying again.
